Founded by Malaysian ceramic artist Rozana Musa, BendangStudio had its humble beginnings as a modest work area for art production.

Originally run from the back of Rozana’s house, the studio’s name was conceived as a poetic nod to the surrounding paddy fields, locally known as sawah bendang.

The same picturesque landscape bore fruit in the form of pliable clay material, giving rise to BendangStudio’s early ceramic works.

After formally establishing itself as a company in January 2010, BendangStudio made the move to its current space in an old building once owned by Rozana’s grandmother.

A bustling grocery shop in the 1950s, the premises are today enlivened by the creative energy channeled into the production of BendangStudio’s unique wares.

Having previously focused on commercial products such as souvenirs and accessories, the studio’s current range encompasses contemporary handmade tableware and home wares. Proudly made in Melaka, BendangStudio also specialises in bespoke designs for restaurateurs and hoteliers, making it a go-to pick for those in the know within the hospitality industry.
